Well since i am planning on changing my seat and also having my wife with me more often i will need somewhere else to rest my legs besides the passenger footpegs. Do people prefer highway pegs, or engine guards on there Max's for resting there feet.

Also how do i know for sure the parts i look at is compatiable for certain with the max frame.

I use both YAMAHA VMAX CHROME ENGINE GUARDS BARS WITH EMBLEM on ebay and Kuryakyn Dually Highway Pegs with Offset Mounts 1 1/4 both on ebay. I have big feet. lol. I really like both but they are a little pricey. I can text you pics if you want by phone what they look like on the bike. I cant upload pics of them on the website for some reason maybe to large of a file. (814) 521-4625 Scott. Hope this helps.

There are quite a few options out there for the Vmax. Sometimes the best bet is call a manufacturer that has parts you like, and ask them what models will fit your bike. Websites usually have a search box wheee u can enter a specific part, or even search by bike model and year. Some parts you look at on ebay wil also have a list of comparable bikes it will fit. I usually do a search under Vmax when I am looking for items then refine it from there. Hope that helps a little... Stay safe, and be well, Steve

Scott, for the engine bars do you have to do any drilling or do they just attach to the frame of the bike as is.

You can buy Yamaha OEM or any of the few that fit the vmax of which they are direct bolt on engine guards. The foot rests just clamp onto them.

They attach to the frame as well. In the area below the motor mount.
