Thunder in the Valley 2014 will be here again sooner than we think so now is the time to start planning it. With the reorganization of the VMOA, things will be slightly different.

Some questions so far (feel free to add on):
1. Should we stay at The Days Inn in Somerset, PA or try now to get into Johnstown, PA?
2. Keep the Friday night meet & greet BBQ? Yes or no?
3. What should we do in place of the Saturday banquet? Another BBQ?

I would like to hear from everyone on their thoughts of what they would like to see happen for this event.

My thoughts on some of the questions asked about what we should do are that a Friday night BBQ gets everybody together and solidify weekend plans. Having a second BBQ is ok but possibly a short ride to a restaurant would be nice. The place we stopped for prime rib last year was nice (aside from the local farm smells! :) ). Sorry, but I do not remember the name of the restaurant that Jim P. led us to, so hopefully someone can chime in to help me out. Vmax Mike, from Michigan, is leading a ride again that will go to West Virginia and will take a good portion of the day. All the guys that went on his ride last year said it was a great route so this is probably a nice option for someone wanting a long ride through great scenery. I sure there will also be some excellent shorter ride options to local attractions which are always popular.

As of now the agenda is a work in progress. If you have any suggestions they will be welcomed. There will be lots of options of things to do, local attractions to see so if there is anything in particular you just have to see, please make it known. Also know that some of the rides will be at a faster pace with less time for sightseeing, but there are also more sedate paced rides set to enjoy the scenery and local attractions.

I know so far we have the following:

Thursday evening Meet n Greet in the parking lot
Friday - WV Ride

Nothing more has been planned out as of yet. We can do the Saturday night dinner ride that Jim P took everyone too. It was to the Top Of The Mountain Restaurant & Bar.

Do we want to do dyno runs again this year? What about tech sessions?

We need volunteers for rides, tech sessions and to just help out in general if needed.

Lets all voice our thoughts so we can start getting the Thunder Agenda together.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

It sounds like we have a well filled agenda with plenty of things to do. Well done Michael, Steve & Kristi and others too!

Well got to Thunder on Friday and had a Damn Good Time for the one day I had , met some new people {to many to name} and ran into a lot of old Friends from years past !! Was Great to see every one enjoying the day and as always V-Max events are full of Class Acts !! Tyler & Damon doing Tech sessions in the parking lot and Damon with back surgery just done but still out helping people , Big John aka Hacksaw , just remembered how much I miss this event each year . The best part of the event is the people by far , the VMOA members have always made this event a Class event !! If you ever go to an event for the V-Max make it Thunder and you will experience first hand what makes this club hands down one of the Best !!! Again I say Thank You to all I met on Friday and to the Old Friends I got to see again I give Thanks also , Ride Hard , Ride Safe and have a Great Time !! Kurt #953
