I just joined here. Already have my 2nd question:

I am thinking of replacing my original seat with a lower one since I'm 5'6" and can hardly touch the ground even with my boots. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks!!

I am glad to hear you taking advantage of using this forum. Ask all you want and whomever is one will reply suggestions to you. So.....as for seats there are several vendors that take your current seat and reform/cover them to use. Here is a list of the main ones actively around:

Morley Muscle Seats from Morley muscle http://morleysmuscle.com
Sportmax Seat from RMSportmax http://rmsportmax.com
UFO streetfighter seat is no longer since closing last year, but their mechanic Mike Lees opened up SRP (Star Rider Performance) http://starriderperformance.com/

Now all will do the same workmanship to your seat by replacing the foam and covering with their designs to your core seat.

Corbin makes a vmax seat, but it is very firm and called a saddle. This most likely isnt a good choice being you need lowering. All of the three above will lower your seat about 1.5-2" so that you are more centered on the bike and have better feel/control. Just make sure the padding whoever does your seating isnt minimal since the less padding, the shorter distance you will ride unless you have a A$$ of steel!!! I personally have owned both the Sportmax & Muscle seats. The quality is surperb from both and I know SRP would do the same quality of work too. I know all three of these vendors personally and can attest to their workmanship. Take a look at the offerings from designs since each has their own materials for the looks of your seat.

Good luck and keep the questions coming!
