I found this comment to program a key and cannot get it to work. Any comments?

HOW TO PROGRAM A YAMAHA IMMOBILIzER KEY

Insert the red master key, turn on and off. Wait for the immobilizer light to blink (about 20 secs)

Insert new key, turn on and off. Immobilizer light should come on.

Job done.

It may take a few attempts.

I finally got the programming to work. Here is how to do it. When it says do it within 5 seconds they mean it. So be fast. Remove red key and insert new key within 5 seconds total. And yes you may have to do it a few times.

Insert the red key into the ignition and turn it to "ON". The immobilizer indicator light should come on for 1 second and then go off.

With the red key still in the ignition, start the engine.

Shut off the engine and remove the red key. The immobilizer indicator light should start to blink after 30 seconds.

Insert the red key into the ignition and turn it to "ON", then "OFF" and then remove the key within 5 seconds.

Insert the black key into the ignition and turn it to "ON" within 5 seconds.

While the immobilizer indicator light is flashing, turn the black key to "OFF" and then remove the key.

Insert the next black key, turn it to "ON"

Wait for the immobilizer indicator light to stop flashing, turn it to "OFF"

If everything went OK, then you can use the both black key to start the engine.
