I need to take the wheel of to remove the mudguard. How do I support the front as there's very little frame to use because of the pipes. Read it in manual to place support under engine but not too keen on that. I presume they mean the square part behind oil filter. Has anyone done it that way and is it safe. Not got straps or rafters in garage otherwise would've hoisted front up

Use your center stand and just place a 2x4 on the jack to lift up the bike on the front of the oil pan. I've been doing this for years without issues.
