HI all,

Have not purchased my first vmax yet, but going to look at one tomorrow. It is a 1998 with approx 60,000kms on it. Looking for some feedback on what I should look for when I check it out.

Appreciate any guidance you can offer.

Thanks

The biggest thing is mechanically running. If the carbs have the air/fuel mixture screws exposed check to make sure they turn....Check the fork seals to assure they arent leaking. Check 2nd gear works (which shouldnt be an issue with that model). These bikes are pretty bullet proof overall. I've owned several GEN1's in my days so far and still keep buying more.

Best of luck to you and your search!

Thanks for your insights.

Pleased to say that I have purchased my first VMAX. A bike I have wanted to own for a long time. The bike was a bit dirty but runs like a clock. None of the potential issues you had pointed out.

a 1998 with approx 63,000kms on it for $3700 Cdn.
