I own an 86 v max that was modified by Mad Max in Waterbury, Conn. One day about 3 years ago the bike wouldn't start. No fuel pump click, no lights, nothing. Brand new battery, checked all fuses ( ok ). I got caught up with work and didn't have time to investigate further so I drained the gas tank and fuel bowls. From sitting for a lengthy time I notice fluid on the floor next to the kickstand. Turned out I had no pressure on clutch lever. I tried adding clutch fluid and bleeding it with no success. Probably need a new clutch slave cylinder or rebuild kit. As far as the starting issue it could be a multitude of things, main switch assy., relays, etc. I do not have the proper tools to test these things. I've bought my bike to 3 different shops in the past and was not happy with their service. Can anyone recommend a competent mechanic in my area that has knowledge of these bikes ? I reside in Winter Haven, Florida.

Thanks, Steve

HI I have a 1998 vmx1200 vmax that I have been having electrical problems with . I have had someone looking at it but it was taking him so long that I took my bike back in bits ! with the idea of finishing it myself. Unfortunately I am not to good with electrics and have the turn siginal handlebar switch box returnd in pieces. As the workshop manual does not cover striping or reassembling this part and I can not find anything on linr or on youtube to help me reassemble this switch I would be greatful for some advice........
