Event Guidelines
1) Promoted and advertised by VMOA staff, which includes any regional director and/or appointed assistant area director or area chapter representative.
2) Advertised in the Vboost or on a recognized VMOA web site maintained by a VMOA appointed official (either the main VMOA site, regional or chapter site) with schedule including times/dates and places of group meetings/rides for the event.
5) Attended by appointed VMOA official (as above) who is responsible for:
a) Insuring VMOA organized ride guidelines below are met
for any scheduled group ride during the event.
b) Promoting the Vmax, VMOA, and motorcycling in general
in a positive manor to the public during the event.
c) In the event the appointed VMOA official cannot attend
the event, he/she shall appoint a responsible VMOA member to assume their role for the above items.
VMOA organized 'ride' would include:
1) Promoted and advertised by VMOA staff, which includes any regionall director and/or appointed assistant area director or area chapter representative.
or
2) Advertised in the Vboost or on a recognized VMOA web site maintained by a VMOA appointed official.
and
3) Attended by appointed VMOA official (as above) who is responsible for:
a) Insuring 'reasonable' and proper ride
information (route, gas stops, timeline, etc.) is conveyed to attending cyclists (VMOA and non-VMOA).
b) Ensuring all attending riders know the general VMOA ride guideline of obeying the native laws of the ride area during the ride.
c) Making reasonable attempts to ensure the ride is conducted in a safe manor, traffic laws are obeyed, alcohol consumption is discouraged, and drug use is not permitted.
d) Promoting the Vmax, VMOA, and motorcycling in general in a positive manor to the public.
e) In the event the appointed VMOA official cannot attend the scheduled ride, he/she shall appoint an attending member to assume their role for the above items.
NOTE: If an event (such as Daytona) is organized and some of the guys go out for a ride while at the event it doesn't mean the ride is 'sanctioned' by the VMOA. But a ride, such as the breakfast ride in Daytona, would be an official ride since it was a 'scheduled event'.
