How to make and Upload a custom Avatar
How you create or resize your graphic image to create your Avatar is totally up to you. But remember no matter how you create your Avatar you want the file to be "Optimized" for viewing on the Web.
There are many applications available, both for free and for sale which make this type of task quite easy. There are even online browser based websites that will resize graphics. All one needs to do is Google "Avatar Creation":
Here are the results of just a search:
Google Search Results For Avatar Creation.
When you have created your optimized Avatar you can upload it by finding and clicking on the "View Account" link in the "Usermenu" block on the top left side of the screen.
When that page opens you will see, across the top Four (4) buttons... you will want to click on the AVATAR button.
The next page you see, after clicking the Avatar button, will be the Avatar upload page. Here you will find the maximum dimensions allowed for your Avatar...
I have repeated them here:
Max Pixels 80 x 80
Max Image Size (Bytes) 35000
The MIME types allowed are as follows:
jpg
jpeg
gif
png
You must have your avatar saved to your hard drive so you can "Browse" to it and click on the file to upload it.
If after you click on the "Submit" button you receive an error, either that your Avatar is to big or the MIME type is wrong.... you did something wrong. Try saving your avatar as another MIME type... IF you tried a .jpg try a .gif or .png... be aware that some graphic programs add hidden information in certain graphic files and this might be what is causing the problem. Also Apple platforms add a text file to most graphic files and this also might be the cause of errors.

You Must Be A Registered Member to post photos to the VMOA Forums.
Here are the instructions on how to post a picture to your post inside the forum:
Posting photos to individual posts in the VMOA Forums
This tutorial will attempt to take you step by step through the proccess of posting to the VMOA Forums incuding posting active links, e-mail addresses and Photos to "New Topic" or "Reply" posts. Please read this entire tutorial as there are many features built into these forums.
Once you have selected to either answer (reply) to an existing post or you have select to start a "New Topic" in one of the forums you will see the "Mini Editor" in the center of your screen.
If you have selected a "reply" posting you will see to the right of "Subject:" the "Re:" along with the original posts subject, of that thread. If you have selected to begin a "New Topic" this text box will be empty... This is where you type in what htis post is about.
Directly under the "Subject:" heading you will see "Message Icon:". To the right is a series of small icons along with "radio buttons". By selcting on of these Icons, by clicking on its corresponding radio button you will attach that Icon to the listing of posts for that forum. I have selected the ! icon for this post... check it out in the listing.
Next, as you move down the "Mini Editor" you will see "Message: To the right is a large box that contains all of the actual composition features for executing your post.
The First line of Icon buttons contains:
The "Link" button (it is the Chain Icon). This button allows you to input any URL into your post I.E.:
VMOA website
When you click on this Icon a small window opens with an empty text input box... It asks you to input the URL of the link you want to add... You must put in the entire URL including the http://www. When you click on the "OK" button another small window opens withan empty text input box. Here is where you can type in the way you want the link to look like... you can either place the URL http:www.whatever.com or you, As I did in the example, just type in some text which will become the link.
Next is the "E-Mail" Icon... This link will insert an e-mail link into the body of your post. A similar small window will open with an empty text input box for you to type in the e-mail address you want inserted into your post. For example wizard@dilligaf.com.
The Next Icon Button is that of a small photo. This is the "Photo URL" button, This is the Icon to use if you want to insert a photo from another website. When you click this button a small window will open with an empty text input box for you to type in the entire URL of the photo you want to insert into your post and then it asks you how you want it aligned.
The Next Icon is the "Photo Manager". When you select this option a small window will open and you will see a small drop down box with "--" in it, click on the drop down arrow. You will see four catagories "Regions", "General", "VBoost Covers" and "Banners" select "General" and then click on the 'Go" Button. The "General" folder will open and you will see all of the Images in that file... You can select any of the images in the file by clicking on the "alignment" icons on the very right of the window, (you might have to expand this window to see all of the options). At the top of this window you will see a text link that says "Add Image File" To add an Image to the "General" folder click this link... When you do, another small window will open and you will see the add an image form. This also gives you the image parameters that are allowed for uploading your photos to this folder. First fill out the name of this Photo I.E. "My VMax". Next an empty text input box if you know the URL of a particular photo, (This actually copies the photo from that URL and placses a copy into the Image Folder). If the Image resides on your computers hard drive click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder on your local machine and click on the file. If it meets the size parameters it will appear in the Image window and then you can select that image by clicking on the "alignment" Icon of your choice. Your Image will be placed into the body of your post.
The next Icon is the "Code" button. This is for those of you who know something about HTML code... If you do not know HTML code just disregaurd this Icon....
The last Icon on this line is the "Quote" button. This button opens a small window with an empty text input bow for you to type in text you want to appear in your post in a "Quote" box I.E.:
The next line has 3 drop down boxes and is used for inpuuting special text that you want to Highlight by size, font & color.. The first says "Size" Click on the Arrow and select the size of the font you want to use... next click on the arrow in the "Font" box and select the font you want... Next click on the arrow of the "Color" box and select the Color you want...
Under these drop down boxes are some other "Font" option Icons... Selct the one you want and then type the Text you want all of these option to affect into the empty text input box... when you are done type , click add, this will insert your Highlited text into your post. I.E.:
This is just a sample there are many variations you can select!
The next area of the "Mini Editor" is the actual "Body" of your post. It is the large empty text input box... this is where you will type whatever it is you want.
Under the "Body" box are series of "Smileys" you can selct as many as you want and they will be inserted into your post.
Finally are some "Options" They should all be self explainatory.
I hope this answers all of your questions about how to use all of the features of the VMOA Forums.

Good Question... There are several Capitol letter abbreviations on the profile page for each member, below is a list of these abbreviations along with there meaning:
PM = Private Message, this is internal to VMOA.net and does not utilize any external e-mail system...
ICQ = Instant Messager of the largest multi lingual community on the Web!
AIM = AOL (America On Line) Instant Messenger a free online chat service
YIM = Yahoo! Messenger for the Web - Instant message other Yahoo users!
MSNM = (Microsoft Network) Instant Messenger.
these spaces are for each member to list his or her "Instant Meesanger" contact information, if they want.
The Signiture section is a little text editor that allows you to type in a personalized "Signature" that will be "Stamped" on all of your private messages or emails you send to other members through the vmoa.net internal message/e-mail service. The editor allows you to include graphics, select font, font size & color. You can also set an e-mail link or a web url... or you can just type something into the larger "text Input Box" like "The Truth Is Out there"

To post an ad regardless of weather it is a "for sale" ad or "wanted" ad just find the link on the left navigation box for the "VMOA Buy/Sell/Swap" board and click on it. This will open the VMOA B/S/S board.
Directly underneath the "VMOA Buy/Sell/Swap" link in the left navigation box you will see a new link appear that is labeled "Submit". You can click on this link and the "submit an ad" page will open.... then just select the category you want your ad listed under... when you click on the category the "submit an ad' page will open and it will be ready for you to input your ad information.
The second way you can submit an ad is from the "VMOA Buy/Sell/Swap" page itself... when you first see the B/S/S page you will notice the disclaimer at the middle of the screen.... scroll the view until you see the categories... select the category you want to list your ad in and click on it... this will open that category for viewing.... In the top of the category viewing window you will see three links... the first is back to the 'Main Page", the second is for the category that you originally selected and the third is for adding an ad it says "Add an ad to this category" if you click on this link it will open an ad submit page ready for you to type in your information...

The "Themes" selection box, on the left side of your screen, presents you with (at this time) 9 different selections of how you view VMOA.net. If you would rather view the site with a light background and dark type or a different layout just click on one of the selections in the "Scroll" box. When you make a selection the website will re-appear in a new configuration (Theme). All of the information will still be available it will just be presented differently.
Go ahead and try it...
